Beth performs throughout the midwest in multiple ensembles. Old-school fans may remember her from the days with her rock band Clear Blue Betty (2002-2008). Now, you can find her as a soloist (just her and her guitar), as duo (with award-winning guitarist Michael Tully) and with the full Beth Kille Band (including Michael Mood on bass and Tony Kille on drums).
She is a founding member of the acoustic-pop/Americana trio, Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets (with Shawndell Marks and Jen Farley) who have won numerous awards for their tight three-part harmonies and also offer a special show called “Legends in Harmony: A Tribute The Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt).”
Lastly she has a duo project with her songwriter friend Erik Kjelland (of The Mascot Theory) called Kerosene Kites. Kerosene Kites has released two holiday-themed albums (and two non-holiday records) so they tend to hit the road hard in December, but can also perform when it’s not cold and snowing.
These Madison Wisconsin Bands are a must-see for locals and visitors alike!

No matter who she stands beside on stage, Beth is a passionate and engaging performer who enjoys everything from intimate listening rooms, private and corporate events and large festival stages.

Beth Kille Band. At first glance, you may not know what to make of them. The farm boy, the quiet intellectual, the ex-Marine, all backing up a wild-haired, shoot-from-the-hip, spirited woman. But then, the show begins, and you know you're about to be wrapped in the arms of a cohesive unit, bonded in the kinship of music. Their style can best be described as Americana-Rock but these dynamic performers can play everything from folk to funk to in-your-face rock.
18 combined albums and counting!
Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets combines the musical styles of three solo-artists-turned-bandmates. Hailing from Southern Wisconsin, Jen Farley, Shawndell Marks and Beth Kille blend their voices into sublime 3-part harmonies, backed by Marks on keyboard, accordion and bass, Kille on guitar and mandolin and Farley on percussion. The Madison Area Music Association (MAMA) has awarded them with the following honors:
Marks and Kille with Female Vocalist of the Year
GCBR the Blues Song of the Year for their original tune "Flash Flood" in 2019.
They were collectively honored with the 2015, 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2023 MAMA Award for Ensemble Vocalists of the Year and inducted into the Hall of Fame now that they’ve amassed five wins in this category.
Their sophomore album, entitled “Lean” (2018) won Folk/American Album of the Year
When two of Madison, Wisconsin's most prolific and driven songwriters combine forces, anything can happen. After years of co-writing sessions, festival planning, and overall "big idea" cultivating, Beth Kille (of Beth Kille Band and Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets) and Erik Kjelland (of The Mascot Theory) perform as a duo.
In addition to crafting their next albums, they team up as co-founders of Flannel Fest, which celebrated 10 years of raising funds and awareness for the Keep Wisconsin Warm/Cool Fund, with over $90,000 raised to help keep our Wisconsin neighbors safely in their homes!

2020 - Comet Boy: The Musical - Songs by Jackie Bradley performed by The Comet Boy Band
Comet Boy: The Musical written by Jackie Bradley and friends includes powerful narration and original songs reflecting Bradley’s journey with a dear friend through a mental health journey that ended in suicide. The purpose was to shine a light on the need for suicide prevention. This album captures all the tunes from the production and is not a trudge through sadness, but a showcase of happy, humorous and sad times which ends on a note of hope. Bradley collaborated with Kille and many others to bring this production to life.
Beth chats with Heid Music about the bands she has founded, her love of songwriting, Girls Rock Camp, and so much more!
